Meet Sadie

Sadie founded a private counseling practice in Moriarty, New Mexico, in 2018, which has since expanded to a group. Her specialization includes training and certification in EMDR and other trauma therapy methods for treating complex trauma. She is registered as a clinical supervisor with the counseling and social work boards in New Mexico. She has practiced equine-assisted psychotherapy since she began independent practice and recently obtained her certification in equine interactions for mental health professionals through the CBEIP.

In 2020 Sadie founded Pivot Point to bring her skills back to the horse community by offering equine behavior consultation and trauma-informed coaching to horse people. She plans to begin offering instruction and training to the public and an annual workshop in horsemanship for equine-assisted service providers in 2024.

In 2022 Sadie founded a non-profit called Compassion Circle Barn, to provide education and services that aim to improve the welfare of horses, provide rescue and behavioral rehabilitation for horses, and personal growth and healing for humans through Compassion-Focused Horsemanship instruction and equine-assisted psychotherapy. She plans to begin offering limited services in 2024.

Sadie and her husband, Luke, now live in Moriarty, New Mexico, with their horses, dogs, and a barn cat. Sadie enjoys personal practice in Taoism and yoga. Sadie is currently having fun spending time with and training her horses using a combination of positive and negative reinforcement to perform tricks and ridden disciplines including trail, reining, cutting, and western dressage.
